History
Emma grew up in a small wizarding town on the Dingle Peninsula in Ireland with her twin sister, Ellie(eruditetwin). Emma was born just eight minutes later than her twin, but it sometimes feels more like eight years. The twins are as different as night and day in terms of personality, but they are still exceedingly close. Ellie is Emma's best friend and vice versa. There is nothing Emma wouldn't do for her sister.

The family is an average middle-class wizarding family. Both of their parents work - Dad as a Muggle Lawyer and Mum runs a bookshop in the village. The twins help out in the shop during holidays from school, though Ellie tends to spend more time there than her sister does.

The twins have an older brother, who Emma adores, despite their frequent conflicts. He's a couple of years older than the twins and quite over-protective. Emma finds his constant interference in her social life (read: her dating life) tiresome, but she still adores him and would do anything for him.

Life at Hogwarts has been pretty uneventful so far. Emma is very social, often falling behind in her studies in favour of hanging out with friends or flirting with some cute boy. Her marks lag behind those of her sister, much to their parents' dismay, but she just sees having a good time as more important than having perfect grades.

Academics
Emma isn't nearly as studious as her "big sister," but she does care about her grades more than most people might suspect. Her grades are important to her and she will work very hard to keep them decent but she will wait until the last minute to do it. She does, contrary to popular belief, believe that her grades are important but why should she focus so much of her attention on work when her sister does that enough for the both of them? Emma almost sees it as her personal duty to have enough fun for the both of them.

Charms is her best subject with DADA running a close second, whereas History fo Magic is the class she absolutely loathes. She'd probably have failed teh OWL if Ellie hadn't taken such good notes and forced her to study with her for the exam from said notes.

Social Life
She's an outgoing and fun seeking girl who would be quick to join in on any pranks or other not exactly school rule friendly activities. She becomes bored easily when studying or doing things that require large amounts of sitting.

Emma is the more outgoing of the twins. She likes boys, she has a ton of friends, and she would much rather be hanging out and having a good time than reading a book most of the time. Is it a wonder that she spends more of her time in the library scoping out the cute Ravenclaws that doing actual homework?

Much like Ellie, Emma is a romantic at heart. She fully believes that there is one person in the world made solely for her. However, she also understands that the world is huge. If she doesn't start looking now, she may never find her one and only. It's a tough job, but she is having a lot of fun doing it.

Strengths/Skills
Emma loves Quidditch. She'd pretty athletic in general, but she's definitely partial to Quidditch, both playing and watching it. She also enjoys a variety of Muggle sports - both watching and playing them. Emma is an active girl and when the weather permits, she can often be found out on the grounds playing some game or other.

Some people might say boys aren't really a hobby or talent, but Emma would disagree. She loves flirting with boys and she's pretty good at it, too. Emma's the sort of cute that many boys can't help wanting to be around and unlike her sister, she doesn't mind kissing a boy just to kiss him while she's waiting for Mr. Right. After all, chasing down Mr. Right Now can be fun, too.

In terms of less shallow traits, Emma is absolutely devoted to her twin sister. She's pretty easygoing most of the time, but cross her twin and Emma's claws will definitely come out. She's better at DADA than her sister and is definitely not afraid to hex the hell out of anyone who would dare try to hurt Ellie.

Weaknesses
She's a HUGE procrastinator. If Emma isn't interested an activity (homework, chores, etc.), she'll put it off until the very last minute. Along with that, Emma is also easily distracted from things that she does not enjoy. For example, she can be on her way to the library and she'll be like "Homework. Homework. Homework." Then suddenly, "OH PRETTY BOY!" or "OH IT'S SUNNY OUTSIDE!" and from that point on, she's forgotten all about the homework and is off to do the more fun activity.

Emma has quite the temper. She has the 'hex first, ask questions later' mentality when it comes to those that she loves, which has gotten her more than her share of detentions in the fast several years.

Emma is also a lot more naive that one might suspect. Regardless of all her flirting and snogging, she is actually quite innocent. Snogging is as far as anything has gone and she likes to believe the best about people until she's shown otherwise.

In the Stars
Ellie and Emma were both born under the sign of Taurus. Positive characteristics include stamina, patience, practicality, frugality, creativity, a love of beauty and nature, faithfulness, loyalty, determination, sensuality, and affection. Negative characteristics are stubbornness (there's a reason why stubborn people are called bullheaded), materialism, resistance to change, laziness, a terrible temper once aroused, prejudice, and sometimes an unimaginative nature.

These wizards will be less hot headed and apt to charge at windmills than other Gryffindors, for Taurus is an earth sign, and the element of Earth adds a pragmatic streak to even the flightiest of wizards. As with all Taureans, though, if a Gryffindor Taurus is pushed hard enough, she will exhibit a volcanic temper. Gryffindors born under this sign will be exceptionally loyal to their friends, and will have high standards of personal integrity.
